CAD provides two work environments:
- MODELspace for drawing the model and
- PAPERspace for preparing the model for plotting.
Do not confuse either with the concept of WORKSPACE.
Each “…SPACE” can be set up in a multitude of ways incorporating choice of menu systems, and environmental settings. The drawing environment is called a WORKSPACE that affects how you view and draw. The contents of the Model and Paper spaces are products of your drawing and do not change the drawing the environment.
A additional concept applies specifically to MycadHELPER. WorkZONEs contribute to a layer management system designed to display the model in production functional ZONES such as floor-by-floor and trade-by-trade – in other words to show what is to be the final plotted output. AutoCAD describes this in terms of SHEETSETS containing VPORTS of specific areas and layer displays of the model.
Just as a reminder VIEWS are what you see in Modelspace – VPORTS are windows drawn in Paperspace through which you can view modelspace.
